Joy to the World: The Vertical Dimension of Life (Captions available) CC
On this Third Sunday of Advent, we reflect on the true meaning of joy — not as a fleeting feeling, but as a deep and lasting hope rooted in the coming of Jesus Christ.
This message reminds us that Christmas points us beyond what we can see and touch to a vertical dimension of life — a relationship with God that gives meaning, purpose, and joy even in the midst of sorrow, loss, and unmet longing. Through Scripture, stories, and the promise of grace, we are reminded that Christ came for all people, not because we deserve it, but because God loves us.
Joy is found in knowing:
There is more to life than the visible world
God’s grace is a free gift, not something we earn
Jesus came for imperfect people in need of a Savior
As we sing Joy to the World, may we truly understand why the world rejoices — the Lord has come.
Scripture References:
Isaiah 35:1–2
