Born Again — Pastor Ollin Collins
What if being “born again” means far more than going to Heaven someday—what if it means learning an entirely new way to live right now?
Jesus said in John 3:3 that no one can see the Kingdom of God unless they are born again. In this message, Pastor Ollin Collins explores what those familiar words really mean—not only for our salvation, but for the way we live after giving our lives to Christ.
Using the picture of someone moving to a new country, Pastor Ollin explains that entering God's Kingdom means learning a new set of values, priorities, and ways of living. God's Kingdom often turns the values of this world upside down: we receive by giving, the last become first, greatness is measured by faithfulness rather than status, and salvation is given by grace rather than earned through good works.
Through passages including John 3, Romans 6, Matthew 19–20, Galatians 5, and 2 Corinthians 5–6, this message challenges us to consider not only whether we have been born again, but whether we are growing spiritually and learning to live according to the Kingdom into which we have been born.
Galatians 5 gives us a beautiful picture of that transformed life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Being born again is the beginning. God then begins the lifelong work of changing our thinking, our priorities, our behavior, and our hearts as we learn to keep in step with His Spirit.
Have you been born again? And if you have, are you learning to live like a citizen of God's Kingdom?
